Import a setup entity from a file

Peter van Meijel 2 years ago • updated by Onno de Haan 7 months ago 5

As an administrator, I want to import an individual setup entity from a file so that I can easily add single entities to my environment.

To do this, I go to Setup > Import and select "From a file":

After that, I go to the next page and can select the entity that I want to upload and can select the file:

When I click on finish, the file gets uploaded and and I see a notification that the setup entity is inserted.

Import environment using ZIP file

Peter van Meijel 2 years ago • updated 7 months ago 3

As an organization administrator, I want to create a new environment and import setup entities so that I can easily transfer fixtures between environments.

Currently, fixtures can only be copied from sample environments or my own organization. However, this makes it hard for partners and Maxedy to maintain the sample and demo environments.

To do this, we add a new button to the environments table on the Organization page:

By clicking on this button, a popup opens:

This popup allows me to select a ZIP file and enter a name for the environment.

By clicking Ok, the ZIP file is uploaded. I get a message that "Your environment has been uploaded and will be created. You will receive an e-mail when the environment is ready.".

Sort documents in an overview

Peter van Meijel 2 years ago • updated by Bram Nieuwenhuize 2 years ago 4

As a user, I want to see documents in a sorted way so that I can quickly find my documents.

Updating the layout editor

When opening an overview layout in the layout editor, a Grid section is visible. We will add functionality to define the default sort of the overview.

We do this by adding a clickable area next to the 'remove column' button:

When I click on this area, I can set the default sort of the column:

  • Click once, and we sort ascending
  • Click again, and we sort decending
  • Click gain, and we do not sort on the column.

The sort order should be indicated by a arrow.

When the administrator saves an overview layout and opens it again, the arrows should be displayed as he left it.

Update the overview renderer

When the user opens an overview, the sort order should be as defined in the the overview layout.

However, the user has to possibility to overrule this by clicking on the column header:

  • Click once, and we sort ascending
  • Click again, and we sort decending
  • Click gain, and we do not sort on the column.

How the sort mechanism actually works

The documents in the overview are sorted based on the order of the columns. So (in the example above), documents are first ordered on status (ascending). When there are two documents with the same status, these documents are then sorted on Date and the Delivery boy.

In the case of 1-1 reference fields and picklists, we will sort on the label of selected value(s).

Sorting of images, geolocations, QR codes, and 1-N reference fields will not be supported.

Sorting documents should take place on the server, because the client typically has only a subset of documents available. As a result, data should be reloaded when the user overrules the default sort order.

Sort lines within a document

Peter van Meijel 2 years ago • updated by Bram Nieuwenhuize 2 years ago 6

As a user, I want to see documents in a sorted way so that I can quickly find my documents.

Updating the layout editor

When opening an document layout in the layout editor, a Lines section is visible. We will add functionality to define the default sort of a particular line.

We do this by adding a clickable area next to the 'remove field' button:

When I click on this area, I can set the default sort of the column:

  • Click once, and we sort ascending
  • Click again, and we sort decending
  • Click gain, and we do not sort on the column.

The sort order should be indicated by a arrow.

When the administrator saves an overview layout and opens it again, the arrows should be displayed as he left it.

Updating the document renderer

When the user opens a document, the sort order will be according to the sort order set in the layout.

The user can overrule this sort order by clicking on the column header:

  • Click once, and we sort ascending
  • Click again, and we sort decending
  • Click gain, and we do not sort on the column.

How the sort actually works

The documents in the overview are sorted based on the order of the fields. So (in the example above), documents are first ordered on Pizza (descending). When there are two documents with the same Pizza, these documents are then sorted on Size and VAT.

In the case of 1-1 reference fields and picklists, we will sort on the label of selected value(s).

Sorting of images, geolocations, QR codes, and 1-N reference fields will not be supported.

Sorting lines in documents can take place on the client, because the client has all lines available.

Library with placeholders for configuration of actions (like REST-calls)

Onno de Haan 2 years ago • updated by Peter van Meijel 7 months ago 8

i would like to have a library (editable set of item-value pairs), that can be used to configure REST-calls for example.

In a REST-call action, i would like to enter something like

https://{MTCSERVER}/metacomonline/rest/transactiondocument

The value of MTCSERVER should be editable in one central place.

This would allow us to copy entire documents including actions and stuff to an other environment for example.

It will also make it a breeze to change on Metacom-URL when a customers changes its server-park (some customers do that once every 1 or 2 years).

Indicator for required field

Peter van Meijel 2 years ago • updated by Bram Nieuwenhuize 2 years ago 4

As a user, I want to see an indicator for required fields so that I can complete forms without resorting to 'trial and error'.

Currently, there is no indicator for required fields. BizzStream only indicates which field are required when

  • I save the document
  • Execute a user action
  • Remove the focus from the field

Show messages in scripts

Peter van Meijel 2 years ago • updated 2 years ago 6

As an administrator, I want to be able to show a message to users when a script is executed, so that I can notify them of any errors that may have occurred.

For instance, I want to make sure that a field has a value before I continue to make a calculation. In that case, I want to use the following code:

if(!clientDocument.numberField){
    notification.error("Missing value", "Please enter a value in the number field");
    return;
}

The first argument indicates the title of the notification. The second argument contains the full message.

We will also implement two other methods

notification.success(title, message);
notification.info(title, message);

After executing the script, the user should see the error message.

Open target document from a script.

Patrick Bekkema 2 years ago • updated by Peter van Meijel 2 years ago 14

In a script where documentLines are copied to another document (Target) we need to open the target document. The users can finish the task they started without searching, selecting and opening the new document.

For Dura Vermeer this is a requirement!
